MOM LQS UPDATE: WHAT EMPLOYERS NEED TO KNOW

With effect 1.7.2026,

To count as a full (1.0) local employee towards your company’s Work Permit and S Pass quota, the local worker (Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident) must earn a minimum gross monthly salary of $1,800. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) utilizes the Local Qualifying Salary (LQS) and CPF contributions to determine your exact foreign worker entitlement. The specific counting tiers are as follows:

✅Counted as 1.0 Local Employee: Earns at least $1,800 per month.

✅⁠Counted as 0.5 Local Employee: Earns between $900 and $1,799 per month.
